Children's Education Coordinators:

Pre-School: Karen Roggenkamp

 

Pre-School Coordinator for Children’s Ministries

"You are never to young to learn basic Bible truths:  God loves Me, God created me, God knows my name." 

Karen believes that we can change our world if we begin teaching these truths to our children from the time they are babies.  As children grow up, they will grow in their knowledge of who Jesus is, and they will have built a solid foundation for the remainder of their lives based on a personal relationship with the Lord.  "It is very important that parents and the church partner together to teach children God's principles for living. It is my job as Pre-School Coordinator to equip our classroom leaders and our parents with the tools they need to accomplish this task."

Karen has been an active member at HMPC for several years.  She currently serves as an Elder, and has been involved with the Worship Ministry, the Fellowship Ministry, a small group leader and participant, and most recently served as our VBS Director.

"VBS was a delight!  The greatest joy I had was watching the children learn the daily Bible Points and scripture verses, and hearing them pray.  That was the sweetest sound imaginable.  Our HMPC kids are amazing!"

Elementary School: Emily Cain

Elementary Coordinator for Children’s Ministries

Though Emily graduated with two architecture degrees at Auburn University, her main passion is for reaching out and sharing God’s love with others. While at Auburn, Emily got involved with campus ministry and also served as Youth Director at Union Springs Presbyterian Church.  After graduating in 2002, Emily directed a summer church camp and later lived in Haiti for 2 ½ years doing mission work.

Emily is excited about partnering with our parents at HMPC to help equip them to spiritually nurture each of our children. “We as a church and as parents can do more working together than we can each do separately.  If we can teach our children to love God and walk with Him while they are young, imagine the powerful impact that will have on the rest of their lives!”

Being a military wife, Emily believes in the importance of church family. “Knowing that we have a church family at HMPC who loves us and cares about us and prays for us is a great encouragement and blessing to my kids and me while my husband is deployed overseas.  I am thrilled to be able to return the blessing by working with the families and Children’s Ministries’ volunteers at HMPC.”
